Mike Durant, the President and CEO of Pinnacle Solutions Inc., moderated the Future of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Aviation Panel at the Global SOF Symposium in Tampa, FL on 21 February 2017. There were more than 450 participants from 25 countries present at the symposium organized by the Global SOF Foundation. The event brought together U.S. and international SOF leaders “to discuss the importance of SOF enablers as well as critical ways for global SOF to interoperate, from tactics to policy” (source http://www.globalsofsymposium.org/us).
Mike Durant’s role was to lead a panel on Future of SOF Aviation featuring three distinguished speakers: MG Clayton Hutmacher, Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Operations Command; MAJ Sebastien Pistre, French Special Ops Officer; and Keith Flail, Vice President, Global Military Business, Bell Helicopter. During the 90-minute discussion, the panelists provided their views on the topic based on their unique experiences, discussed current issues and touched on how SOF Aviation impacts the international community.
