On December 30, 2015, Mike Durant, Pinnacle Solution’s President, was notified that Pinnacle had been awarded the USAF KC-10 Training System (KC-10 TS) Contract. The period of performance on the KC-10 TS contract is March 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020 and consists of one base period and four option periods. The total contract value is approximately $115M. Pinnacle is pleased to have FlightSafety Services Corporation (FSSC) as its major subcontractor on KC-10 TS.

On this contract, the Pinnacle Team will manage and operate the KC-10 TS at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in New Jersey and Travis Air Force Base (AFB), CA, as well as the KC-10 TS Training System Support Center (TSSC) in Fairfield, CA. The effort includes:

  • Managing and conducting KC-10 Pilot, Flight Engineer, and Boom Operator instruction in the classroom and the Sites’ Weapons Systems Trainers (WSTs), Flight Training Devices (FTDs), Boom Operator Trainers (BOTs), Aircraft System Trainers (ASTs), Cargo Load Models (CLMs), Flight Management System (FMS) Table Top Trainers (TTTs), and Computer Based Training (CBT) Learning Center
  • Performing daily, routine, and preventative maintenance on each Site’s Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs)
  • Managing the logistics support and life cycle sustainment efforts of the KC-10 TS
  • Maintaining KC-10 TS concurrency, incorporating highly technical modifications into the ATDs, and modifying/upgrading the ATDs, courseware, software, and hardware
  • Providing KC-10 TS upgrades, including the re-host of ATDs, the acquisition of a Cargo Load Trainer (CLT), replacement of the visual system on the BOTs, and replacing the Mylar on multiple ATDs
  • Integrating, implementing, and supporting the Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) modification of the KC-10 TS, which includes supporting, developing, installing, and testing the CNS/ATM modification of current and new KC-10 TS devices; developing and maintain CNS/ATM courseware; and supporting and conducting CNS/ATM related training
  • Supporting, developing, and managing all KC-10 Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Security, and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) requirements
